Prof. Charles Ochieng’ Ong’ondo
Prof. Charles Ochieng’ Ong’ondo is the Ag. Executive Director of ANIE. He oversees the operations of ANIE Secretariat & implementation of ANIE activities & programs. He is a Commonwealth Academic Fellow and a holder of a PhD Degree in Language Teacher Education from The University of Leeds in the United Kingdom (UK), an M.Phil Degree in English Language Education from Moi University and a B.Ed Degree in English and Literature from Moi University. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer of Educational Communication and the Head of the Department of Communication Studies in the School of Human Resource Development, at Moi University – Kenya. He has served as an external examiner in universities in East Africa. He is also a seasoned facilitator and adjudicator in the Kenya National Schools and Colleges Drama Festival (KNDF) and the Kenya Music Foundation (KMF). In terms of professional affiliation, Prof. Ong’ondo is a member of the African Network for Internalisation of Education (ANIE), International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), the Association of English Language Educators and Researchers in Kenya (ASELER) and Kenya Association of Educational Administration and Management (KAEAM). He has published widely in Language Teacher Education and Research Methodology.  Prior to joining the university as a lecturer, he had more than ten years’ experience as a teacher and Principal in Kenyan Schools.



Dr. Philip O Ayoo
Dr. Philip O Ayoo is the Deputy Executive Director, ANIE, in charge of research and innovation coordination. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and operationalizing research partnerships and collaborations within the ANIE and with other relevant organizations, coordinating the activities of the ANIE research team, including the Network of Emerging Scholars in Internationalization (NESI), as well as leading the resource mobilization efforts for ANIE research and other programmes. Before joining ANIE, he has been serving as the Principal Innovation and Outreach Officer at the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), a regional inter-governmental agency for the coordination of higher education within the East African Community region. At IUCEA, he was responsible for providing leadership in the coordination of research, innovation and outreach activities for higher education institutions, as well as activities to enhance innovations in universities in East Africa. He previously served IUCEA as Electronic Database Specialist, overseeing the development of appropriate ICT capacity at IUCEA and member universities, coordinating joint ICT research by the academia, and developing various funding projects to support ICT research, development and deployment in higher education. Before joining IUCEA, he was faculty at the Department of Information and Media Technology, Moi University, Kenya, where he had also served as a Senior Technician in charge of the department’s information resources laboratory.

Dr. Ayoo is an information systems expert with special interests in the use of digital technologies in supporting the academic, research, outreach and administrative functions of higher education institutions. He holds a PhD in Information Systems from Makerere University, Uganda, as well as MPhil. and BSc. in Information Sciences from Moi University, Kenya. He is a senior member of the Uganda Computer Society.


Mr. Blair Joseph Onyango Otieno – Programme Manager

Blair is the Programme Manager at ANIE secretariat situated at Moi University Eldoret. His academic background includes fields as diverse as accounting, business management, law, and human resource management. Blair is trained in body and institutions such as Business Management from the Association of Business Executive (UK), Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Moi University, Bachelor of Law from University of Nairobi. He is an associate member of the ABE (UK) and The African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE). He has 11 years working experience, prior to joining ANIE he was the Senior Administrative Officer at Geniuses Worldwide Limited. He is the founder of Blair Otieno Foundation.






Ms. Teresa Summei
Ms. Summei is a member of staff seconded to work in ANIEShe is the Office Manager at(ANIE) and is responsible for overall management of ANIE day to day duties.  She holds a Degree in Political Science and Public Administration and a Diploma in Religious studies from Moi University and a certificate in Secretarial studies.









Ms. Hottensia Chelimo Sang
Hottensia Chelimo Sang joins ANIE on Secondment from Moi university. She holds a Bachelors of Commerce –Management option from Catholic university of Eastern and Central Africa and a Diploma law from Kenya school of professional studies. Previously worked at Moi university Nakuru campus as Admin assistant in charge of Directors office and at Kimaru Kiplagat Advocates as a legal assistant. At ANIE she as a research assistant.








Mrs. Lydia Jelagat – Office Assistant
Ms. Lydia Jelagat is  a seconded staff of Moi University who works with ANIE as an Office Assistant. Lydia holds a Diploma in Business Management from Moi University and is also a holder of a Bachelors Degree in Purchasing and Supplies from the same institution.
