Welcome to COIL is part of the Professional Development for COIL initiative offered by the International Education and Partnership Office of the Durban University of Technology.
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) has been in practice as a pedagogical method at DUT for a number of years, allowing further enhancement of internationalisation and decolonisation of the curriculum at DUT.
Learning outcomes: On completion of the activities in Welcome to COIL you will be able to:
-Recognise a range of terms for virtual exchange practices/initiatives.
· Summarize the principles and characteristics of COIL as a pedagogy.
· Differentiate between COIL & Virtual Engagement
· Explain the stages in the design and implementation of a COIL project (including partnering)
-Consider how your university could implement and integrate COIL
