We are delighted to announce that the esteemed Minister of Education for Zanzibar, Ms Lela Muhamed Mussa, will be the chief guest at the 13th Annual Conference of the African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE). The conference will be held in Verde Hotel, Zanzibar from 4th-6th October, 2023 under the theme Reframing Knowledge Partnerships for Mutual Benefits and Africa’s Needs.

Ms Lela Muhamed Mussa is a highly regarded figure in Zanzibar’s education sector, known for her commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and quality. As the Minister of Education, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at improving access to education, promoting inclusive practices, and fostering global collaborations. Her progressive vision for education and the SDG’s aligns perfectly with the theme of this year’s conference. As the chief guest, Ms Lela Muhamed Mussa will deliver an address, sharing her insights and experiences on educational development in Zanzibar.

In this post COVID era, stronger and meaningful partnerships and collaborations are desirable now than ever before to enable African universities and their international counterparts to contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the other crucial developmental needs of their societies. The conference will bring together higher education stakeholders, policymakers, practitioners, academics and researchers, development partners and other stakeholders to explore ways in which international partnerships and collaborations can impact more on Africa’s developmental needs.
